98 Points from Wine Advocate

Critics and Community Rave About This Chilean Carignane

Santiago, Chile - The 2018 WEB De Martino Vigno Old Vines Carignane Maule Valley has received an impressive 98 points from Wine Advocate, making it one of the highest-rated Chilean Carignan wines ever.

This accolade is the latest in a string of accolades for this exceptional wine, which has also received 94 points from Critics and an average of 886 points in 17 community wine reviews.

The WEB project is a collaboration between De Martino and a group of small-scale Carignan growers in the Maule Valley. The grapes for this wine come from old vines that are planted on stony, alluvial soils. The wine is fermented in concrete tanks and then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

The result is a complex and elegant wine with aromas of dark fruit, spice, and earth. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with flavors of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and chocolate. The tannins are firm but ripe, and the finish is long and lingering.

The 2018 WEB De Martino Vigno Old Vines Carignane Maule Valley is a perfect example of the potential of Chilean Carignan. This wine is a must-try for any lover of red wine.
